Why not camp over with us while on your course? How to Book

You can pitch up your tent and camp next to the woodsman's shelter where you will be working, in the area of woodland where the courses are run. There is a firepit and seating covered by canvas, so even if the weather is a little bit inclement in the evening you can still stay warm and dry and enjoy the warmth of the fire. There are toilet and basic wash facilities adjacent to the camping area, please note, we have no shower or kitchen facilities at present.

If camping is not your thing, there are various types of accommodation in the surrounding area including a fantastic self catering Salt House , Thornton Lodge Farm Bed & Breakfast in Easingwold and Fourways Guest House in Thirsk.

Food

We will provide tea and coffee all day during the course, usually in the kelly kettle powered from the wood shavings we have generated. We will also provide a simple but hearty lunch to keep you going during the day, usually soup and fresh baked bread.

If you fancy a pint and a bite to eat at the end of the day, The Moor & Pheasant (just 500m down the road) serves an excellent carvery and ales.

York Wood Crafts camp is about halfway between the beautiful market towns of Thirsk and Easingwold, full of pubs and restaurants. York is only 15 miles to the south, and the white horse at Kilburn is only 5 miles away.
